TONY SHOEBOX (pictured) / + GUESTS
Tony Shoebox create a varied yet unique Alternative Rock sound based around infectious melodies, contrasting vocal harmonies and pounding drum beats. The unique line-up consists of two-guitarists, bassist and drummer, although the drummer becomes front man, and a guitarist becomes the drummer, during the average live show. With around 4 years solid gig experience, performances are tailored to an art; with attention grabbing songs and high energy dynamics taking place. Influences range from Idlewild & Bloc Party to Teenage Fanclub & Something Corporate- and this is heard through the different musical styles played and performed. The band have shared stages with a number of bigger acts including Tracey Hunter, Orko, Adrianna and Viva Machine.

PILOTLIGHT (pictured) / LADDER COINS / POCKET PROMISE
Pilotlight are a 4 piece hailing from Dublin originally and currently living in London. The band create intense emotional music verging from fragile and intricate to harsh and overwhelming. Pilotlight were conceived in June of 2001 when the band met at school. To date Pilotlight have had three independent Irish releases, the last single reaching the top 40 of the Irish national singles charts. South was released as a promotional cd in 2002 and shifted 1000 copies and was voted in the top 15 songs of 2002 by the listeners of Dublin's Phantom FM. "South mixes piano-balladry with guitar-driven rock to telling effect, as the band show a keen understanding of dynamics." -John Walshe, Sunday World (Metro Mag) Butterflies was a self recorded, produced & released single which was released in late 2003 and reached the number one position in the Phantom FM airplay charts where it remained for 5 weeks. Bite Your Nails was released in January 2005. Bite Your Nails reached number 36 in the Irish national singles charts and featured on the in-flight radio entertainment for all Aer Lingus flights. "Bite Your Nails is a beautiful rock exercise, with alternating light and dark, from loose spaces of melody, it rips unexpectedly to a fury of guitar outbursts" -Indiepop.it In late 2005 Pilotlight began recording of their debut album and relocated to London. Music To Cross The Road To is a new promotional single taken from the album sessions. "The song conjures up some deep emotions about love lost and chances missed, things that might have been but never were and is quite heart-wrenching really, if you can listen to this song and not feel anything then you have no soul." - Rawkstar.net Pilotlight inked a deal with UK independent label Coercion Records in late 2006 and will give Bite Your Nails a UK release on March 19th 2007.

Moonshaker: THE ID PARADE / CARDIAC / 5 STICKS OF DYNAMITE
Cardiac (Formerly Elysium) - The line up is simple - Guitar, Bass, Drums and Vocals that collectively produce exciting songs and electric performances. The band originally hail from Central Scotland and consist of Andy on Guitar/Vocals and Colin on Drums/vocals with Gus on Bass/vocals. The bands collective musical influences vary from Interpol, Mclusky, The Arcade Fire, Shellac to The Knack. They formed in 2000 and over the past 6 years have been working hard on the writing and performing of their own original material. To date the band have received nothing but good reviews on their performances especially their first EP Slope which received many plaudits from journalists and audiences alike. "The grungy triad are a refreshing blast of sulphuric sonics that punches the air in archaic triumph. As frenzied as 'In Utero', it's a pulsating performance of crunching guitars and real venom." USA IS A MONSTER / GERMLIN (pictured) / HOUSEHOLD
USA is a Monster 'Sunset At The End of the Industrial Age' - The fifth release as a two piece from this Bedford-Stuyvesant, NY duo knows as the USA is A Monster . From when your skinny finger hits , this record roars out of the gates with banshee driven fury. Definitely taking cues from chariot drivers such as Rush, Magma, Lightning Bolt, but blasting into their own regions of otherwordly rockulation. Whereas the last record was a concept driven epic of over 70+ minutes with frequent rural electricity free moments, this record pulls wheelies around Stonehenge in a little over 45 minutes,. The songs are a bit more direct this time out and feature use of Gitmo crowd busters syntho action as well as the patented guitar4 olympiadz the band is famed for on the undie rock railroad. Of course the USA is a Monster wants to turn the tide and prepare us for the time after the lights go dim on Western Civilization's exhaust pipe party. For this, the words and sounds are of a war stomp. And the battle will rage, with the battle field location known as your mind! Not matter if you download this or buy this in a big box store, look up from your desktop unit and engage this record. It will show you the Shining Path and you know what to do... / Germlin: Scottish laptop artist Joe Howe aka GERMLIN produces a hyperactive mix of gabba, chipcore, lo-fi & power pop, combining influences like VAN HALEN, VENETIAN SNARES and DAT POLITICS. "This is techno-euphoria in its most addictive form, finally releasing the PC from the dark tyranny of Brian Eno's Windows 95 sound effects. Are you ready for some laptop gabba? This is nerdcore and it rocks like an epileptic fit. The kid is destined for greatness." Plan B / Household, from the centre of scotland, is a dischordant pop band that makes new-wave discodancers wanna bust out crying. There's two beautifully hand crafted home recorded 3-track limited CD releases, which are pretty much sold out now. We've just made another 3-track gem at pete flett's barn in Plean, which you can get at all our shows for dirt cheap. We'll make an EP/Album thing this year too. Yeah? Yeah!? Yeah!!!

Is this music?: THE STARLETS (pictured) / MUSIC AND MOVEMENT / PAUL NAPIER
The Starlets.... "If you really want to know.... Once apon a time, singer Biff Smith's sister Gill attended The Glasgow School of Art where drummer Craig Laurie was working. Gill mentioned Craig's name to Biff who was trying unsuccessfully to get a band together and they met up for a rehearsal. On the day of the rehearsal Craig had been to a football match and was slightly the worse for wear after having "a few". He entered the practice room, sat behind the drum kit and fell backwards off the drum stool. It was love at first sight. Over the next year or two, other members came and went until The Starlets finally settled on their first team of Biff Smith - voice, Mark McSwiggan - Guitars, Stephen McGourty - Bass, Craig Laurie - Drums, Nigel Baillie - Brass, and Iain White - Strings, in time to deliver their debut album "Surely tomorrow you'll feel blue" (2001). Inspired in part by alternative guitar pop and old string-laden movie soundtracks, it was a lush poetic album which, despite being utterly out of step with prevailing musical trends, gained critical acclaim, winning "Jockrock album of the year" and included in "Is this Music" top 100 albums by Scottish artists, and found an audience for the band beyond their home town of Glasgow. This continued with the release of the second album "Further into night forever" (2003) which was again a critical success and brought the band to the attention of the Japanese label Muzak which licensed the record for Japan and helped promote The Starlets' first ever live performances in Tokyo. A new album is nearing completion, recorded at the famous Riverside Studios with Duncan Cameron (Teenage Fanclub, BMX Bandits etc. producer). More news on that soon with live dates to follow." "....some of the finest pop songs you've never heard." **** Sunday Herald / Paul Napier - "Formed in excited excretable excellence when a hapless sperm rushed headlong into a blind ovum, Paul Napier (pronounced Nap-ee-ay with an eccent on the "e") continues to astound, pervert, concern and revolt. His thick tendrillous hair is soldered irrevocably to the revolving nub of his beatific head, swirling in tsunamis of liquid melody down the peak of his cranium to the Everustian mountain range of his rectum, cock and balls. Some say he sprange fully formed from the head of an androgynous hangman, others that his skin is derived from a discontinued print-run of that informative daily organ, the News in my Orifice. These egregious cultural commentators can go penetrate their papier-mache exteriors with knives for all Paul-Napier-may-care. He is the well-informed heralder of the heraldic popular apocalypse. Axiomatically, do not comment upon that which you do not understand. Beware stylistic implants. Chirp in gullible choir-head with members of the fair-play sex. Scratch what you can't stroke. Hate what you can't love. Stand on street corners distributing foam-frothing pamphlets exhorting those intemperent sons-a-bitches to ethically sound behaviour. The quick pitch: Mr Napier's lazer-triggered eyes will leave you gasping in reptile rectitude, his piston-pump-action-powered torso will revolve at speed upwards of a million miles an hour. His name is derived from the occupation of royal nappy-cleaner. He is a servile fool with blubbering, slip-slap-sloppy lips and no sense of either propriety or morality. Buy fast. Buy now. Stocks are dwindling. / Music and Movement - "we are music and movement and we make music out of glasgow, scotland in a village called balmore in our analogue mountain studio. we have many influences from folk to felt and can and velvets and nancy and lee and galaxie and mbv. we often ask ourselves what would the jesus & mary chain do? the incredible string band created their best work out of balmore and those same misty twisty trees influence us, albeit with a more teutonic rock'n'roll flavour.

tronic presents: CHRIST (pictured) / KESER / EDGE OF THE MAP / DEE MOND
Tronic is a monthly night dedicated to live electronic music. Based in Glasgow, Scotland, their idea is to bring the best of the underground electronic scene together for one-off live electronic performances. The styles are very eclectic within the 'Tronic' scene and they aim to cover the full spectrum of electronica, ranging from Techno, Ambient, Experimental, Breaks, Hardcore, Glitch, House and Electro. / Christ: - Initially involved in the Hexagon Sun project with Michael Sandison and Marcus Eoin, Christopher Horne has moved on to produce music under the moniker Christ. (Easily offended christians please note its short for Christopher, not the son of God). Producing the 'Pylonesque EP' in 2002 and following this up with the superb Metamorphic Reproduction Miracle album the next year, Christ. made a massive impact on the electronic scene both in Scotland and on the international stage. Taking his live set as far a-field as Japan, Switzerland, France, Finland and the Sonar Festival (Barcelona, Spain). Christ has also been one of the select group of artists to play for John Peel at Maida Vale (twice due to Mr Peels rare request for an encore). Playing out his material from his new album (Blue Shift Emissions) at Tronic, you will hear electronica straight out the top drawer this March. Mr Horne will be taking the stage at approx. 10:00 pm and if you see anyone this month at Tronic, this is the act. / Keser - Have recently had their debut album 'Esoteric Escape' released by Edinburgh based label 'Alex Tronic Records', to which many good things have been said. "There is something rarefied about this ambitious beauty" Comparisons made to 'Boards Of Canada' and 'Mogwai' are justified, as Keser's sound has a beautiful, ethereal depth to it, taking the listener on a hypnotic flight through their utopian world. The escapism starts with delicate ambient strings washed over faint vocals and samples. When live, Keser have a dynamic energy full of distorted guitar and crunchy beats backed by some imposing visuals, in all promising to be the perfect support to christ. Proving yet again, what exceptional eletronica is out there in Scotland waiting to be heard. / Edge Of The Map - An electronic artist that was surrounded in mystery, when he took to the stage, for the Tronic album launch last year. A talented musician, who swapped guitar strings for that of synth strings, had never played live under the name 'EOTM' before and really stunned everyone that witnessed his live set that night. Instantly you can't help being drawn to the warm, deep ambience he creates and driving layered beats, keep his sound flowing, mapping out synthscapes and beautiful musical patterns. Influences from the likes of Steve Reich to Underworld are apparent in this electronic wizard's style, thus being the perfect opening act on a great night of electronic music. / Dee Mond - Works under his own label 'Pyrate Music' and has been at the forefront of the techno/electro scene in Edinburgh for many years. An influential dj, normally mixing and mashing up all various styles of dance music - forming his own unique blend of elektrotech. Dee Mond has fine tuned all musical knowledge and production skills into his music and energetic live sets. Having also previously released two albums and just recently his new 12" EP 'Dee Mond', this electronic producer will undoubtedly get the exposure he deserves. Dee Mond will end the night, quite fittingly we feel as this electronic demon is sure to leave his mark on the Tronic scene. Doors 8.30pm - £6/£4

OI POLLOI / LA LUAIN / RESISTANCE
yas! Oi Polloi return to the note.....always an amazing night.... "We're an anarcho-punk band based in Edinburgh in Scotland. Simply put, we're interested in making rocking punk music that will hopefully make people think and inspire action to make our world a better place. We've been playing together in our current incarnation for over five years now but prior to that the band has been touring and making records continuously since 1981. We're not interested in the mainstream music business and prefer to organise our releases and tours through the underground DIY punk network. In recent years we've begun to record and release material in the indigenous Celtic language of Scotland, Gaelic. The band name however comes from the ancient Greek phrase "Hoi Polloi" meaning "the mob, the ordinary people, the rabble". This phrase is used in the UK today by upper class rich people when looking down their noses at the ordinary common folk. Back in 1981 it also had a link to a type of hard punk music known as "Oi!" which was characterised by shouted vocals and sing-along crowd choruses of the type that we played at the time and still often favour today. While it later came to attract a certain amount of right-wing idiots, "Oi!" music at this time in Edinburgh just meant good music for ordinary kids that was also about bringing punks and sussed skinheads and other kids together in unity. You'll see a lot of rubbish written on the web about where the term "Oi!" came from but the truth is that it was a term coined by a music journalist from the now defunct music paper "Sounds" and is an exclamation commonly used in East London (where a lot of these bands originally came from) to attract attention as in "Oi you! Listen to me, I've got something to say!". The word originally comes from slang used by the large Jewish community in the East End - the same folk that gave Mosley's fascist blackshirts a bloody nose in the Battle of Cable Street in 1936 - quite appropriate really. Although we were originally influenced by the music of some of the early Oi bands it wasn't long before we started to listen to a lot of anarcho-punk stuff, particularly bands like Icons of Filth, Crass, Flux of Pink Indians, Rudimentary Peni and Antisect and they all had a big effect on us - so if you like our stuff and what we have to say and haven't heard these bands then do check them out, you won't regret it. Other bands that we should recommend here are some of those that ex-members of Oi Polloi have gone on to play in. If you like heavy metallic and political hardcore then you should check out In Decade's Decline who feature three guys who used to play in the band and have an excellent CD out. If you liked our "Fuaim Catha" LP then you should also check out the split LP that Divide and Conquer made with Robotnicka. Divide and Conquer feature the same guitarist and drummer from that album and have some similar stuff - just with better vocals from a singer who can actually sing!

HEADCASES (France) (pictured) / LOSS LEADER / WALL STREET AMMUNITION HERO
Here's an alta vista translation of a french "headcases" review....The aficionados affirm that this second album of the Headcases trio is tortured less than their first, in date of 2001 ("Horns Are Really Well Sharpened", at Timer/M10). From here, one especially saw the expression of a knowledge there making very hard as regards instrumental fitting, and if to classify Headcases field of impossible even of the Heresy proves to be, it is well for the best than this French group can give us. Of an exemplary rigour, its dashes have the rage of Punk, and use the guitars with ingeniousness by coupling a Noise optics of the best effect with precise and sharp, heavy batteries but always going to essence. Headcases, finally, is a group which is not deprived of lyricism: its melodies are beautiful but not clinquantes, they never exploit the obviousness. The diagram is not excluded, even if the epigraph of the power became a reflex: "Driving while intoxicated" poses the things, and "Reversed" confirms the tendency without disconnecting amplifications at all). The rhythmic ones, themselves, contain all this small something which makes that one returns there: shifts in hitch, they draw the carpet under the feet from the guitars, condemned to sail in weightlessness ("Hands up corporal! ") even if, of time to others, they impose their roughness, history to be made well respect. Eleven titles, as many melodies worked and been useful by a song clearly irreproachable, sober and powerful. Formidable and introductory "Carnival sextimes" in final "the Flying dancers", Headcases gives to its bruitism emotional assets of scale. Urgent, alambiqué and demanding, this "rock'n'roll" there is to be followed closely. Today, the noise is coupled with the songwriting. And, us are known what remains to be made us."

Towords the end of 2005 Kasgradh was recruited as guitarist with Bismark playing bass. Ronue (Ex Ravencult, Greece) joined the ranks around the same time as the drummer.
