PopLife
POPLIFE AM 1 - Who'd have thunk it? Poplife, the 13th Note's official pop quiz, is 1 year old and nobody's been killed or jailed yet. To celebrate our first birthday, we'll be giving away more prizes than ever, including CDs, gig tickets and anything else we can dig up. There'll be balloons, there'll party games & there'll be all the predictable birthday tat you'd expect from us. There'll also be the usual pop trivia, random foolishness and barely-competent hostmanship from your spiritual leaders JC & Molly, ably assisted as ever by Mr Brendan from his notorious back passage Hell, there might even be cake. So some along and help us celebrate our birthday, at 8.45pm sharp (and we mean it this time). Who knows, you might even leave with a crate of NON-TENNENTS beer and a fistful of dollars, or at least a bellyfull of birthday cake.
POPLIFE ... better than a kick in the nuts from Mugabe

Friday 09
Lucerna (pictured) + guests
With a love for all things melodic and a sinful disposition toward the epic, Lucerna have a sound at once beautiful and intense. Equally at home stripped back and acoustic, or ear-burstingly full on and amplified Lucerna live is something you owe it to yourself to check out.The band have toured Scotland & begun making their first forays south of the border. Having previously supported bands such as The Hives, Delays, Spiritualized and The Buzzcocks, and released two successful singles, the band have recently been given a fantastic opportunity to record their debut album with Beetroot records.

Thursday 15
Gilded Lil (pictured)
Gilded Li: Over the course of 6 singles, released over the last 18 months, including a couple on Glasgow independent Bosque they have come across as the Velvet Underground going blues boogie ballistic, as the Cramps fronted by a gallus Janis Joplin and as the only band who might be able to out chaos Royal Trux. Theres an album in the pipeline which Hillman thinks will take Gilded Lil out of muddy waters, but regardless of any refining process, they sound like a band you will want to see live.

End of the Month Club - TRAUMA PET (pictured) / SALON BORIS (pictured) / BOZILLA / THRIFTSHOP XL
YAAAASSS !! EOTMC falls on a Friday for the only time in 2005 and the team shall be rewarding the loyal mid-week regulars with two rather fabulous guests. Venturing all the way up from Southampton to Scotland for the very first time are the delectable female "electro noir" duo TRAUMA PET. One live reviewer stated " if their entire act consisted off picking pencils off the floor, they would still command your attention" but we at eotmc are less shallow in our tastes and have invited the T.P. ladies due to their music that is one part Client, one part Soft Cell blended with a soupcons of Evenesance vocal. Plus as regulars know there are indeed pencils and pens galore every month at eotmc should the need arise. Our second guests are the acclaimed Glasgow electro trio SALON BORIS who would have been to EOTMC before if they weren't so damn busy. We love our electro and Salon Boris deliver it in style, gaining much interest with their single on U-discs "every body's talking about retro". The band describe themselves as "dirty filthy electro pop" and we've been honoured to be shoe horned in as their final gig before and extended period of rest and writing.
Plus of course the regular dose of topicana, video mashing, big grins and "rather catchy pop" from your loving hosts BOZiLLA and regular VJ, Thriftshop XL shall delight and entertain in the special way only eotmc can. Please note - participants for the annual FEAR ACADEMY halloween sing scare fest on the 31st Oct can now make themselves known via boo@eotmc.com .
